Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
At St Clare of Assisi Primary School, we integrate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) across the curriculum to create engaging and purposeful learning experiences. We believe technology is a powerful tool to enhance creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.
Kindergarten to Year 3
Students in the early years have access to school-owned iPads, which supports hands-on, interactive learning. These devices allow younger learners to explore ideas, practise foundational skills, and express their understanding in creative and meaningful ways.
Years 4 to 6
Students in Years 4 to 6 are provided with school laptops for use in class. This access enables them to conduct research, develop presentations, collaborate on shared projects, and build the digital skills needed for future learning. Students use a range of educational platforms and tools, including Google Workspace and Canva, to support their learning.
Safe and Responsible Use
Our approach to ICT places strong emphasis on online safety and responsible use. All families are asked to review and agree to our ICT Acceptable Use Agreement, which outlines expectations and the ways we monitor and support technology use. Teachers guide students in safe digital practices, and cyber safety education is embedded across year levels.
By working in partnership with families, we ensure that technology is used safely, respectfully, and effectively to enhance student learning and wellbeing.
