Dear SCA Families,
In these days we might ponder how each of us responds to overwhelming negativity, fear and despair. As we edge closer to Easter, I wonder what thoughts were going through Jesus’ head as he edged closer to Jerusalem and then Calvary. He must have felt many of the emotions that we are feeling now, but deeper and more severe.
That is why God became human — to reassure us that all we feel and fear, he knows and understands. He has been there and done that.
I hold you all close in my prayers.
How Do We Know What’s Happening?
Not only has everything about school (and everywhere else) changed, but we don’t know for how long. We also know it could change again with very little notice.
Please know the following:
- Updates will be shared via SZapp. This will be our main form of communication. Please do NOT believe everything you see on the TV, Face Book, Social Media, or even hear from other well-meaning parents. If unsure, refer to our messages. If still unsure, please contact the school directly.
- I will be available to all parents regarding any matter, every day.
- We will stay connected. On each school day, your child’s teacher will have contact with your child.
- The Newsletter will be published each week of term, even next week.
- You do not have to be your child’s teacher.
Give them some structure and boundaries at home, and gently encourage them to take on more responsibility.
If it’s causing tears at home, ask the teacher about what really matters, and focus on that.
Love them, read to and with them, involve them in domestic duties, exercise with them, sing with them, learn a new skill with them, play with them, have fun with them, assure them, and yes, support them with their school directed learning.

Sadly, churches are now required to be closed until further notice.
We must now make alternative, less traditional arrangements for prayer. Here are some suggestions:
- This is a link to daily Mass online https://www.catholicvoice.org.au/mass-online/ which is celebrated by one of our parish priests. You can also access it through the Corpus Christi parish webpage link http://www.ccparish.org.au/
- Read “God’s Word 2020”. This has the daily readings and some beautiful reflections.
- Sit in the sun and find things to be thankful for.
- Take a walk and pray the Rosary.
- Make a home-made cross from paddle-pop sticks.
- Call a friend and ask how they’re going.
- Skype, Zoom, FaceTime, Messenger Chat to family and friends.
- Light a candle at dinner time.
These are all small things but they can have a big impact when done with love.
Fr James send us this message:
Good afternoon All,
As we pass through these trying times, let us always gaze at the cross. There are two dimensions to the cross, the first, is that of pain, passion, death and the second, is that of victory, resurrection and new life. I am sure we will find hope and light. I am in tears to see the church doors are locked for an unknown time. Let us remind ourselves that, we are church, God abides in our hearts, the walking church. I offer my daily masses for each one of your intentions and that of the entire people in the world. May God help us to grow through this tough times. Let us express our Christian charity in reaching out using all possible electronic, social platforms, so that we are connected.
Please feel free to send emails or call us at parish phone, 6291 6688. If you don’t get us on the phone please leave a message or send an email. You can also send your personal intentions via email or phone message and I will include them in my daily mass.
May you all experience God’s mercy and unconditional love.
Yours in Christ,
Sending lots of love from your pastor
Fr James T Antony cmi

Due to staff absence, and very low student numbers, the SCA Canteen will be closed for this week. (Tuesday 31 March - Friday 3 April).
As week 10 is a pupil free week, the canteen will also be closed then.
We apologise for any inconvenience this causes.
Enrolments for Year 7 2021 are now open. Below is information from both St Clares College and also St Mary MacKillop College, in which they both outline how to enrol and virtual tour dates. You are able to enrol online for both schools.
In the SCA Front Office we have St Mary MacKillop College enrolment and information packs available.
