Sadly, churches are now required to be closed until further notice.
We must now make alternative, less traditional arrangements for prayer. Here are some suggestions:
- This is a link to daily Mass online https://www.catholicvoice.org.au/mass-online/ which is celebrated by one of our parish priests. You can also access it through the Corpus Christi parish webpage link http://www.ccparish.org.au/
- Read “God’s Word 2020”. This has the daily readings and some beautiful reflections.
- Sit in the sun and find things to be thankful for.
- Take a walk and pray the Rosary.
- Make a home-made cross from paddle-pop sticks.
- Call a friend and ask how they’re going.
- Skype, Zoom, FaceTime, Messenger Chat to family and friends.
- Light a candle at dinner time.
These are all small things but they can have a big impact when done with love.
Fr James send us this message:
Good afternoon All,
As we pass through these trying times, let us always gaze at the cross. There are two dimensions to the cross, the first, is that of pain, passion, death and the second, is that of victory, resurrection and new life. I am sure we will find hope and light. I am in tears to see the church doors are locked for an unknown time. Let us remind ourselves that, we are church, God abides in our hearts, the walking church. I offer my daily masses for each one of your intentions and that of the entire people in the world. May God help us to grow through this tough times. Let us express our Christian charity in reaching out using all possible electronic, social platforms, so that we are connected.
Please feel free to send emails or call us at parish phone, 6291 6688. If you don’t get us on the phone please leave a message or send an email. You can also send your personal intentions via email or phone message and I will include them in my daily mass.
May you all experience God’s mercy and unconditional love.
Yours in Christ,
Sending lots of love from your pastor
