Dear SCA families,
SCA Fete
The Community Council has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s SCA Fete, in light of COVID restrictions. Though it is possible restrictions will ease between now and then, a decision had to be made so that we would not be left, potentially, with the cost of cancelling after all arrangements had been made.
The hard working Fete Committee, led by Amy Backhouse, Anne Scollen, and Karen Haines, will instead organise a fun day for our student body. More details regarding this will be provided next term.
Thanks to the committee and their helpers for the work that had already gone into planning this year’s fete. Their support of the school is truly appreciated.
Footy Fever Day!
We are celebrating ‘Footy Fever Day’ this Friday. Students are encouraged to dress in their team’s footy colours or ‘sporting’ attire. Please remember to supply a pick-a-pot donation if in Years K-3 and a block of chocolate if in Year 4-6. These items will go towards our fun-day (Fete replacement) next term. Thank you for your support with this. See flyer later in the newsletter.
Raffle Tickets
Each family will have received a book of raffle tickets. Please support your school by selling and returning these as soon as possible. If you are not able to sell them, please return them to school so that another family may have the opportunity to do so.
You would understand that, for legal purposes, each book must be accounted for.
Thank you for your efforts in selling these, and for all you do to support our school.
Summer Uniform
Summer Uniform commences in Term 4, so please check the wardrobe and visit the Clothing Pool and Savvy if any items are needed. We will have the usual transition period early in Term 4 to cater for the unpredictable weather.
A reminder that black leather school shoes are an essential item of uniform. Several parents comment that their Year 6 child only has one term left at school. However, students also need black school shoes in high school.
School Fees
Term 3 school fees are now overdue. Thank you to those families who have paid their school fees. Please speak to Jo McCarthy, in the Front Office, if you are interested in setting up direct debit, having issues with your fees or if you are not sure of the amount due.
A Big Thanks
We continue to be an SCA family, but have been challenged by physical separation this term. Staff and students have missed the presence of extended families in the school, and I am sure many parents have wished they could spend time with us. I thank all parents and carers for working with us so patiently and cooperatively during these unprecedented times. We will, of course, continue to prioritise safety, however we are very much looking forward to the day when parents are again wandering through our school grounds.
On behalf of the children and their families I thank each staff member for their efforts during the term. I continue to be impressed with and thankful for the dedication and care shown by all the staff at St Clare of Assisi. Your children are in good hands.
I pray that all in our school family enjoy the break and that we each return (in summer uniform) safe and refreshed on Monday 12th October.
Enjoy some special time with your family these holidays.

Blessings to you and your family.
