Dear Parents and Carers,
REMEMBRANCE DAY
On Monday, we were extremely fortunate to participate in a very powerful Remembrance Day Ceremony with members of our community and the armed forces. The ceremony was reverently led by the Year 2 students and their teachers and we were privileged to have Lieutenant Colonel Angela Trezise, mother of Chloe, to be part of the ceremony. Special thanks to Joseph McGrath, our fabulous Defence Mentor, for all his coordination of the event.
They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old: age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.’

FAMILIES LEAVING SCA
Thank you to the families who have informed us if they are leaving our community at the end of the year. However, there have been a few cases where the children have told their teacher they are leaving but as yet, the Front Office has not been notified. If you are leaving at the end of the year and have not let us know officially, would you please inform the Front Office ASAP or go to the link below and fill out the digital form. It is important for our planning of classes for 2020.

PURPLE HAPPY Day
On Friday we will have our annual celebration of Purple Happy Day. The essence of the day is having fun and building awareness of the importance of good mental health and well-being for our kids. This initiative started as a fundraiser in 2011, for a sick student that was part of the St Clare of Assisi community, Shanice Johnson. Sadly, Shanice passed away while she was at SCA and we have continued this tradition to remember her but also to highlight the issues mentioned above. During the day at school all children will be involved in a variety of activities on health, well-being, mental health and games. Students are invited to wear purple to help celebrate this fun day. The day will commence with Mass after which Fr James will bless our newly created art works. The day will continue with a range of activities including body balance, boot camp, meditation, jumping castle and mindfulness practices. We will conclude the day with a special session of Peer Support.
Thank you to all of the students who this year participated in the ICAS testing. These students have put their minds to the test and proudly represented St Clare of Assisi. All the students have put in a tremendous effort, and we have achieved some outstanding results, that prove there are amazing things happening in our classrooms.
Spelling Bee certificates will be presented at morning assembly this Friday, 15th November. There will be new and exciting opportunities to be involved in these programs once again in 2020, so please be on lookout for more information early next year.
Blessings to you and your family,
Val Ciuffetelli
Assistant Principal
