- SCHOOL RESUMES MONDAY 22ND JULY
Dear SCA Families,
A Silver Jubilee
Our school is worth celebrating. In its 25 years, thousands of children, parents and staff have benefited from, and contributed to the SCA family. If you are presently, or previously have been, connected to our wonderful school, please join us on Friday 9th August to celebrate this milestone. It promises to be a great night.
For details, please refer to Facebook, our App, Website, or call us on 6294 1860.
We have, rapidly it seems, come to the end of the first semester for 2019. It continues to be a privilege to be part of SCA. I have been impressed with the professionalism and dedication of all staff. I wish to thank each of them for their efforts so far this year. I am sure you all join with me in wishing them a well-earned and restful break.
Thank you to the many parents who have supported the school in such a variety of ways. Parents have helped: with the Soccer Carnival, in the canteen, in reading groups, with excursions, in the classrooms, on special days and events, by attending meetings etc. etc.
Thanks to the children. The staff enjoy coming to work each day because we work with a wonderful group of children.
Enjoy the holidays everyone.
Semester Awards
Congratulations to all the students who were presented with an award at our end of semester ceremony today. These are significant awards, and parents should be justifiably proud of their children.
Thanks to staff for their organisation, especially Karen Snowball and Val Ciuffetelli who coordinated the event.
Reports
‘The trouble with not having a goal is that you can spend forever running up and down the field and never scoring.’ Bill Copeland.
Yesterday you should have received your child’s report. I am sure that each child will be able to identify their own areas of success, and importantly for their growth, areas for development. Should you have any questions about your child’s report, or any other issues, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or myself.
Uniform
Most children are coming to school every day wearing the correct school uniform. There is, though, an increasing number of children wearing non-uniform school shoes and/or non-uniform beanies and coats. Please remember that our policy is for black leather school shoes to be worn with the school uniform.
I ask that all families use the holiday period to ensure all children have all they need to wear the correct uniform to school when we resume on Monday 22 July.
Grandparents Day
We will celebrate the “grand-folk” in our children’s lives on Friday 2 August, which is the second Friday of next term. Please let all grandparents and “grand-figures” know they are invited to St Clare’s for this occasion.
It was once said…
“I’d rather attempt to do something great and fail, than to attempt to do nothing and succeed.” ~ Robert H. Schuller.
Blessings to you and your family.

Sparkles Match Report
Sparkles played a really excellent game this week against Maddies. We have been working hard on our passing, our pivoting, defensive hands over and our dodging, and the girls really impressed me by showing off all these skills on the court. Sparkles have had a great start to their first season and are picking up new skills every week which is exciting to watch. Well done Sparkles!!
Congratulations to Chloe Prstec (2G) who won gold in the under 8 girls ACT cross country championships held on Saturday, 29 June 2019.
