Year 6 families please carefully read a separate SZapp due to be sent tomorrow with key dates for Confirmation, including student retreat day, parent and child formation evening, commitment masses and Confirmation celebration dates.

Christian Meditation

Tomorrow, Year 1 welcome Helen Bramanathan from Catholic Education to introduce the students to Christian Meditation. Helen visited Year 4 last term and they now practise Christian Meditation regularly in the classroom. Over the year all students will be introduced to this simple way to pray. At the heart of contemplative prayer, which is where Christian meditation fits, is the simple act of being with God; recognising in stillness and silence God's indwelling presence.

Mother's Day

As we celebrate Mother's Day this weekend, we remember all women, our own mothers and Jesus' mother Mary. In March this year Pope Francis said of Mary -

“She listens as Mother. Just like, and more than, every good mother, Mary defends us from danger, she is concerned about us even when we are concentrated on our own things...Mary is there, praying for us, praying for those who do not pray. To pray with us. Why? Because she is our Mother.”
