Swifts Match Report

Saturday's netball game began differently for the Swifts on the weekend. Instead of our usual warm up regime, our warm up consisted of a mixed girls and parents game to raise money for TNA Turns Pink. I'm sure that the girls and parents all had a great time playing each other and thankfully there were no injuries. The other difference on Saturday was that we had our first cold and windy morning.

The girls found it a bit difficult in the first quarter to warm up and pass accurately with the wind. After a pep talk at quarter time, the girls went back on to the court feeling more positive and energised. This week's game has been the fourth in a row of excellent games for the Swifts. T

here have been great improvements with the movement of the ball down the court, direct and accurate passing and catching, maintaining stamina for the full game and tight defence. With a lot of free-flowing play, the girls were able to get the ball to the shooters on numerous occasions and we were able to score 17 goals. A well deserved win to the Swifts.

Smurfs Match Report

The Smurfs were a little flat after the fun of Friday nights disco, but they all got out there and gave it their best.  It was a tough game with our opponents running away with an early lead which they held on to despite some good defence from the Smurfs. It’s really great to see our skills and team work improving each week.

TNA TURNS PINK!

On Saturday TNA held their annual TNA Turns Pink day.  The day is held to raise money for Bosom Buddies ACT and Marymead.  Some of our fabulous SCA netballers had so much fun dressing up in pink and playing fun games on the day.  The day was a great success and raised over $7000!!  Congratulations to all of our teams for their involvement and support!!
