2019 Improvement Plan Update

One of our improvement goals for 2019 is to Communicate Effectively. In trying to do so, we identified three target areas:

1. Ensure all members of the school community are aware of all events in a timely manner.
2. Inform staff and parents of 2018 improvement plan and provide regular updates.
3. Communicate in a consistent and expected manner. 

With more than half the year to go, we still have plans for further improvements. However, so far this year we have:

• Updated and modernised our school website so that it is to be more user friendly, informative and appealing to current and prospective families.
• Used the newsletter to promote use of the school’s Google Calendar amongst staff and families.
• Every Wednesday, published a newsletter that includes upcoming events.
• Tried to ensure all events are added to the calendar in a timely manner, usually at least a term in advance.
• Connected the online calendar to our website and our new app.
• Published a weekly, student (Year 6) produced on-line SCA News.
• Used of Facebook to celebrate and promote the school.
• Discussed the Improvement Plan at each Community Council meeting.
• Published the school Improvement Plan in the newsletter.
• Introduced a new school app to provide more efficient and reliable two-way communication between the school and parents.
• Sent a letter (via old-fashioned snail mail) to inform parents of these updates.
