Message from The Assistant Principal Week 7
Wearing Our Uniform with Pride – and Purpose
At St Clare of Assisi, our uniform is more than just a dress code, it’s a reflection of our shared identity, values, and pride in being part of a respectful and inclusive school community.
Why do we wear a uniform?
Uniforms help create a sense of unity and belonging. It removes distractions, promote equality, and help students focus on learning. When everyone wears the correct uniform, it shows that we are ready to learn and proud to represent our school.

Why does it matter that our uniform is neat and complete?
Wearing clean, well-maintained clothing (free from holes or excessive wear) demonstrates self-respect and a commitment to our school’s standards.

We understand that life happens.
We know that sometimes there are valid reasons why a student may not be in full uniform. Whether due to medical needs (sensory sensitivity), financial hardship, unexpected circumstances, or specific needs. In these cases, we encourage open communication between families and the school. We are always willing to work with parents and carers to find a solution that supports the student while maintaining our shared standards.

However, it’s important to note that simply not wanting to wear the uniform, or choosing alternatives for convenience, is not a valid reason. Our expectations are clear, and we ask for your support in reinforcing them at home.
Let’s work together.
Over the coming weeks if your child is not in correct uniform they will receive a reminder slip. Please help us to maintain high standards of uniform and support our students to wear their uniform with pride.

Coaching in Action: StepLab Intensive
Today, four of our staff members are attending a Coaching Intensive Professional Development session with StepLab. This is an exciting opportunity to deepen our understanding of effective coaching practices and strengthen our professional learning culture.
As we continue to build momentum in our coaching journey, we’re looking forward to sharing more in our next newsletter. We’re especially keen to hear from our coaches about how this work is supporting both their colleagues and themselves in building professional capacity and fostering an environment where growth is valued and celebrated.
Stay tuned!
