Dear SCA Families
Good Friday and Easter aren't just about chocolate eggs and long weekends (although these are pretty good)—they hold deep meaning for Catholics. Good Friday commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, where He willingly gave His life for us. It's a solemn day of reflection on His immense love and sacrifice, reminding us of the forgiveness and hope He offers.
Then comes Easter Sunday—the most joyful day of the year for Catholics! It celebrates Jesus's resurrection from the dead, conquering sin and death. His triumph over the grave gives us hope for eternal life and shows His power over all things. It's a reminder that even in the darkest times, there's always light and new beginnings.
Good Friday and Easter together form the heart of the Christian faith. They remind us of the depth of God's love and the promise of salvation. So, while you enjoy the festivities and time with loved ones, take a moment to ponder the incredible significance of these days. They're not just dates on the calendar—they're a celebration of hope, renewal, and the ultimate victory of love over despair.
A Short Message from Pope Francis this Easter
"Let the risen Jesus enter your life, welcome him as a friend, with trust: he is life! If up till now you have kept him at a distance, step forward. He will receive you with open arms. If you have been indifferent, take a risk: you won't be disappointed. If following him seems difficult, don't be afraid, trust him, be confident that he is close to you, he is with you, and he will give you the peace you are looking for and the strength to live as he would have you do."
Playground Equipment
We are excited to have commenced using our new playground equipment today. Our school community has worked hard to fund this program, with money raised through the Colour Run, the Fete and school levies all contributing.
The equipment has been designed to develop skills, agility, strength and stamina in specific age groups, when used in a correct and safe manner. Any time students use the equipment, there will be a staff member supervising, dedicated to ensuring students are using it safely.
To ensure the safety of our students, children will not be permitted on the equipment before or after school. (OSHC attendees will be permitted to use the equipment, under the supervision of OSHC staff, after 3.40pm.)
Parents are asked to respect these guidelines, which are in place to ensure the school is able to meet our duty of care for each and every child.
Parent Teacher Interviews / Oral Reporting
Educating our children requires an effective partnership between parents/carers and the school. To ensure this partnership has any chance of success, please book a time to meet with your child’s teacher in the final week of term.
Parking on the Courts
If you park on the netball/basketball courts, we seek your cooperation, to ensure the safety of all in our community:
- Please leave a safe walk-way along the playground equipment (i.e. park at least 1.5m away from the covered area).
- Cars leaving the courts area are asked to give way to cars moving though the car park, especially those leaving the “donut” area.
- Children are never to walk unaccompanied across the courts area before or after school. Please walk side-by-side with your child/ren.
Term Dates
This term ends on Friday 12th April. Term Two commences on Tuesday 30th April for students, and Monday 29th April for staff.
Term 2 and Winter Uniform
A reminder that, when Term 2 commences on Tuesday 30th April, winter uniform should be worn by all students.

Easter: the only time it's okay to put all of your eggs in one basket...and then eat them all in one sitting.
