From The Principal Week 3
Dear Parents and Carers,
Another busy week at SCA!
Kindergarten celebrated 101 fabulous days at SCA, Year 1 dressed in Olden Day clothes to learn what life was like in the past as part of the History curriculum, Year 3 and 4 participated in a ThinkUKnow Cyber Safety session presented by the AFP and Year 6 visited Parliament House to learn about the procedures of parliament, and that Australia is a democratic country which has a mixed system of government. To top this off, all of the students were able to show us their groovy moves during Footsteps Dance class.
Hats On!
From the 1st August, we have returned to our "No hat, no play" policy. Just a reminder that all students will need to wear their hat during school breaks, to and from school especially if they are walking or on a bike. Hats shield the face and head from sunburn. It protects your eyes from the brightness of the sun, which can cause damage and it also helps to prevent skin cancers and skin damage. Many of us now know the dangers of repeated sunburn and have to get our skin checked on a regular basis.
Bush Christmas Fete November 17
The preparation for our upcoming Bush Christmas Fete began late last year. So far, we have booked many of the attractions including Bells Carnival, Petting Zoo, Hot Rod display and live entertainment including musicians, choirs and dancers. We need your help to run different stalls as a class groups.
On Tuesday 8th August, we will hold our Fete Meeting in the Library. Please come along as many hands make light work! All funds raised from our Fete goes back into resourcing learning here at SCA.
