Vinnies Sleepout
One night isn't a lot, but it can make a whole lot of difference
Every night, thousands of Australians experience homelessness. But it doesn't have to be that way. This year Matt Egan-Richards is again taking part in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout to raise money for the St Vincent de Paul Society to support Australians in need. For one night, he will be sleeping outside as part of an eye-opening experience to raise awareness and bring home the realities of homelessness.
To help break the devastating cycle of homelessness, can you assist Matt?
On a Sunday Night on the 4th of each month a couple of SCA staff are rostered to take out the Vinnies Night Patrol Van. We meet some wonderful people hand out sandwiches, make a hot drink, give out a warm jacket or two and have a chat. This simple act is making someone’s night a little easier. Vinnies Night Patrol is an opportunity for people to gather in a place where they will be accepted and not judged.
This year Matt has again put up his hand to help support this wonderful cause. The funds that Matt raises will go towards Vinnies Night Patrol. Our SCA staff see the benefit first hand being out on the streets.
While the issues of homelessness and housing stress are complex problems…… we know Vinnies has made a difference. If you can, please support Matt in his fundraising, the link is below:
