Squiggles Match Report

Halfway through the season, the Squiggles have come such a long way since their first game of netball! Their confidence in passing, creating space, defending, shooting and understanding the boundaries of each position is wonderful to watch. They’re really coming together as a team and the team bond is so strong!

This week the Squiggles played the HF Freddo’s and it was a great game from the first centre pass! A few highlights from the game were Amali’s strong passes and two quick goals in the first quarter – she made it look so easy. Emma and Tahlia showed amazing defence with many intercepts and great team work to ‘stick like glue’ to their players so the ball didn’t make it into the other shooting circle!

Delilah and Evie dominated the centre court in the second quarter, creating space for the team to move the ball to our goal third and did some of the best passes we’ve seen all season! Adelaide did a great job moving around the circle and caught a great pass and got our next goal in!

Zaria got a goal in the third quarter, and was able to quickly change to defence mode when needed to get fantastic intercepts.

In the final quarter, Ivy shone in the centre court, creating space and chasing the ball down like it was her treasure! Lily was brilliant moving around the goal defenders, leading for the ball and getting our last goal in for the game.

Adelaide’s movement to create space on the court got her the player of the week award this week!

We are so proud of the girls, and how dedicated and determined they are to try their best at any position we give them, and the way they support each other as a team. They all enjoy doing our team cheer at the end of each game, always with massive smiles on their faces!

Smiggles Match Report

The Smiggles played a tough game on Saturday against Hurricanes.

All the girls defended really well, we needed to get our passes over the top and around some very tall players and our passes were great.

The girls have trained really hard every week and are getting the ball down the court with great passes and loud voices calling for the ball and getting into free space.

All the girls play so well as team hard to believe they have only been playing for half a season together.

Smiggles favourite warm up is fast feet it gets the girls ready to train hard and play amazing netball.
